Whether you are a 7 year-old child learning piano for the first time, a sophomore in high school wishing to continue musical studies at an intermediate level or an adult interested in exploring piano as a hobbyist, my main objective is to teach you the fundamentals of music and build upon basic keyboard skills while experiencing how emotionally gratifying it can be to learn to play an instrument. I’m very patient and will encourage you to learn at your own comfort level in order to accomplish lesson goals and succeed with my pedagogical instruction.
I have significant experience in classical piano performance instruction, including technique, sight-reading, theory, dynamics and musicianship. The Certificate of Merit (CoM) program that I participated in, provides a systematic and comprehensive plan to develop performance skill, technique, ear-training, sight-reading skills and music theory. I also performed at the annual MTAC conventions throughout my high school years. Since college, I have taught piano in Los Angeles, San Francisco and the surrounding bay area. I am currently a member of PianoTeachers.com. In addition, I perform at weddings, dinner parties, funerals and other engagements upon request.
